The New Moon in Taurus is on May 16, 2026 at 4:02 PM Eastern, at 25 degrees of Taurus. And right away I want you to know: this is an abundant and auspicious moon. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, which means she is in her best position. She thrives here. Things can really work in our favor right now.
Taurus governs money, self-worth, self-care, creativity, values, pleasure, stability, and manifestation. New moons are times to plant seeds. And under an exalted Taurus moon, the soil is rich and ready.
But this New Moon in Taurus 2026 is not just about abundance. It is also about sacred shadow. And the two are more connected than most people realize.
Algol, Medusa, and the Power of Sacred Rage
This New Moon is conjunct Algol, a fixed star connected to the goddess Medusa. Traditional astrology has long called Algol a demon star. But here is what that tradition missed: Algol can bring success. It can be a star of real power.
And Medusa herself, in the goddess tradition, is not a monster. She is revered as powerful, wise, and protective. She is the embodiment of sacred rage.

In my African Goddess Rising deck by Abiola Abrams, Medusa is the shadow. She represents the parts of ourselves we have been told to hide. The emotions we have been taught to perform away. The anger we swallowed because someone told us it made us ugly or too much.
But sacred rage is not something to be fixed or suppressed. Sacred rage is information. It is clarity. It is the soul refusing silence.
Many of us right now are carrying a lot. We are watching things unfold in the world that feel deeply disturbing. We are feeling overwhelmed, stretched, and unsure. And still, we are expected to keep showing up as if none of that is true.
This moon says: your rage, your shadow, your wholeness is actually what is going to fuel what you manifest. This is not a moon for unrealistic positivity. This is a moon for weaving your wholeness back together.
You do not need to become less emotional or less human to manifest a beautiful life. You simply need to stop abandoning yourself.
This Is a Heroine's Journey Moon
Whenever we are working with shadow energy, we are on the Heroine's Journey. And this New Moon in Taurus is a Heroine's Journey moon.
The Heroine's Journey asks us to descend. To meet the parts of ourselves we have rejected or abandoned. To face the Medusa within, not to destroy her, but to understand her. To alchemize what we find there into power.

This moon is going to help us alchemize wounding into manifestation and shadow into strength. And sometimes the highest level of abundance that comes from this kind of work is simply that we feel more valuable and worthy than we did before.
That is the Taurus gift. A deeper sense of self-worth. But we cannot fully access it if we are only willing to show up as the polished version of ourselves.
If the Heroine's Journey is resonating with you, I created a free private podcast series that walks you through this path step by step. It is called From Stuck to Sacred: The Alignment Path and it is waiting for you.
Neith and the Power of Weaving
Medusa is connected to the Egyptian goddess Neith, the cosmic weaver. Neith weaves fate, creation, destiny, and divine order from chaos.

Her medicine teaches us that manifestation is not about forcing reality. It is about weaving intention into embodied existence.
Women have always been weavers, not just of cloth but of community, of wisdom, of protection. We know how to take separate threads, including the dark ones, the painful ones, the ones that looked like they did not belong, and weave them into something whole and strong.
So the question this New Moon in Taurus is asking is not just what do you want to manifest.
It is asking:
What are you weaving?
What kind of life are you building thread by thread?
What kind of world are you helping to create through the way you live, love, speak, and care for yourself?
New Moon in Taurus Ritual 2026: Shadow, Flame, and the Art of Weaving
This New Moon in Taurus is not asking you to be perfect. It is asking you to become whole.
Under this moon we work with two goddesses. Medusa, the keeper of sacred rage and shadow wisdom. And Neith, the ancient Egyptian cosmic weaver, who teaches us that manifestation is not about bypassing what hurts but weaving all of ourselves into what we are creating.
Your emotions are not obstacles to manifestation. They are part of the thread.
Part One: The Candle Ritual
This is your shadow work. Set aside 20 to 30 minutes for this practice.
What you need:
A candle
Your journal
A quiet space
Step One: Light your candle and become present.

Light your candle slowly. Take three deep breaths. Place one hand on your heart and one on your lower belly.
Say out loud or in your heart:
"I allow myself to be exactly as I am. All of me is welcome here."
Sit with the flame for a moment. Let it anchor you.
Step Two: Meet your Medusa.
This is your shadow moment. Not destruction. Recognition.
In your journal, write freely in response to these prompts:
What emotion have I been trying to suppress?
Where am I exhausted from pretending I am okay?
What truth inside me wants acknowledgment right now?
What part of me needs compassion instead of criticism?
Let it come out without judgment. Sacred rage often appears when the soul is tired of silence. That is not something to fix. That is something to listen to.
Step Three: Set your intention.
Now that you have met your shadow, ask yourself: underneath all of this, what do I want to create? What am I being called to weave into being over the next year?
Write it down. Be specific. One clear intention. One thread.
Step Four: Seal it.
As you sit before your candle, declare the following aloud:
"I no longer abandon parts of myself in order to feel worthy. I accept that my shadow is part of my worth. I weave this truth into power. I weave a life that can hold the fullness of me."
Let the candle burn for a while as you sit quietly with what came up.
Part Two: The Weaving Practice
For the next two weeks, through the full moon, weave.

This is Neith's invitation. And it is simpler than you think.
Weaving does not have to be elaborate. It does not require special tools or skills. It just requires your hands and your intention.
You can knit, crochet, braid, macramé, or make friendship bracelets. You can braid your own hair or a friend's. You can take strips of paper and weave them together. You can wrap string around your wrist. You can simply move your hands and arms in a weaving motion as a moving meditation.
It does not matter how simple or how elaborate it is. What matters is that as you weave, you are doing three things:
✨Connecting with your inner goddess. Neith is with you every time your hands are in motion with intention. You are not just making something. You are activating ancient feminine wisdom.
✨Thinking about what you are weaving into existence. Let your hands work while your mind holds your intention. What are you building in your life right now? What threads are you choosing to include? What are you ready to weave into this new chapter?
✨Calming your nervous system. Mercury is in Taurus right now, and Mercury governs the hands. Working with your hands under this moon is literally working with the astrology. It brings you into your body. It quiets the mind. It is medicine.
Weave as much or as little as feels right. Five minutes while you have your morning coffee or tea. An hour on a Sunday afternoon. Whatever works for you is exactly right.
Just weave. And as you do, remember: you are not just making something with your hands. You are weaving a new life into being.
